About Me!

Thank you for taking the time to explore my page :)

My name is Reshmi (Resh-me) and I am Indo-Fijian. I have been modelling since 2016 and it has been my creative outlet for as long as I can remember. As a child, I took my camera everywhere with me.

Growing up, I was taught to hate my skin colour. There was no representation of darker skin toned models and the messaging I got was to lighten my skin in any way possible. I was taught that I had less value as a darker skinned person. I would scrub my skin until it bled, I hid from the sun and I bleached my skin on a regular basis.

This is not what I want communicated to the younger generation. It took me a long time to love the skin I was born with and my goal is to represent individuals who look like me. I want to create a change, and through representation is one of the ways I do that. 

When I am not modelling, I am an advocating for mental health and work as a clinical counsellor. My passion lies within creating a difference and I do that in all aspects of my life.
